British autonomous vehicles are used in a joint exercise with the US military

Advanced units from the UK and US militaries have teamed up as part of a joint experiment using British-designed autonomous systems.

The UK’s Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl), and the US Army Combat Capabilities Development Command’s Ground Vehicle Systems Centre, hosted the Coalition Assured Autonomous Resupply (CAAR) experiment at the Camp Grayling Joint Manoeuvre Training Centre in Michigan.

Brigadier Darrell Amison, the British Army’s Head of Capability Combat Service Support, said:

“CAAR is a great example of successful US/UK Science and Technology and warfighter collaboration. Over three years of trials and experimentation CAAR has rapidly-developed the army’s thinking
